StarView was our 3rd stop of the day on the Wine Trail, so we decided to eat lunch as well as have a tasting. The tasting was a good value- $5 for 5 tastes, and you get to keep the glass. Lunch was simple sandwiches, and although it was good, we did have to wait much longer than you'd expect for that kind of meal. We realize they were very busy (it was a Saturday) and were content to wait on the back deck and take in the scenery.
Starview Vineyards is a really wonderful place to relax, visit with friends, & enjoy everything Southern Illinois has to offer. The owners are always around & are the sweetest couple you could ever hope to meet.
Fire place on a cold day
Very nice winery. Broad selection of wines. More sweet wines than dry wines. Good food. A lot of seating both inside and out. Nice view. Other wineries in the vicinity.
The decor and atmosphere were wonderful. They had a nice outdoor deck on the water. They also had a machine that you could buy fish food from for a quarter and feed the frogs and huge coy. Unfortunately, the machine is basically empty so we had to shake it to get some fish food but it was fun in the end! The wine was our least favorite from the 4 wineries we went to that day but my wife and I prefer semi-sweet and sweet wine so if you prefer dry wine then you may have a different opinion!
